Lazy Oaf SS12 Lookbook

Images from the SS12 lookbook of Lazy Oaf. All pictures were shot by photographer Bella Howard who perfectly captures the vibrant energy of Lazy Oaf.

Topshop Unique SS12

The Topshop Unique show oozed Egyptian appeal for SS12. Heavily inspired by Cleopatra, specifically Elizabeth Taylor portraying Cleopatra, the collection was full of metallics meeting pastel pinks, shimmers of gold and hieroglyphic prints galore. Capturing the laid back essence of the 90's, there was hints of sporty silhouettes, in the form of casual trousers and oversized knitwear, with Cleopatra's face on the front. There were a number of other elements used in the show that only underlined the 90's sport connection, with metallic visors, bum bags and running shorts. My favourite piece from the collection is the princess pink midi dress with gold panels, modelled by Charlotte Free. I could go on praising the collection and personally feel this is their best show yet. Topshop Unique consistently delivers a blend of catwalk meets street style within their collections, and for SS12 it was no different.

Terry Richardson for LOVE SS12

Another selection of photographs from the current issue of LOVE magazine. A four double page spread in the magazine, featuring a platinum blonde haired Lindsay Lohan, smoking in her underwear. The images were captured by another one of my favourite photographers, Terry Richardson, who's photographs I have blogged about before. In opposition to Tim Walker (see post below), who's fantastical element draws me to his images, it's Richardson's rawness that I love about his photographs.

Tim Walker, Italian Vogue and LOVE

Tim Walker is my all time favourite photographer. His continuous element of fantasy he uses within each photo shoot attracts me like a magpie to shiny things. This particular shoot for Italian Vogue (January 2012), shot in Northumberland has immediately become one I admire. The styling is perfectly timed in tune for the SS12 colour palette of sugary sweet pastels. The innocent nature of the photographs is blended with an eeriness that comes in the form of an oversized china doll. The clothing worn upon model Lindsey Wixson channels a doll like essence.

Walker has also created another fantastical shoot for the SS12 issue of LOVE magazine, featuring model Kristen McMenamy, styled by Katie Grand. Another fashion fairytale by Tim Walker.

Adidas Originals by Jeremy Scott

American born Jeremy Scott, known for his outlandish, bold style, is a designer who you can't ignore. His designs are made up of vivid prints, bright colours and cartoon characters, including Mickey Mouse. The famous favour his bizarre style; everyone from Bjork to Nicki Minaj and Agyness Deyn to Miss Piggy have worn and loved his designs.
However, it's his recent SS12 collection for Adidas that I have been magnetically drawn too. I adore anything with stars and stripes so it is no wonder I am lusting after these sporty designs. In addition to the clothing, Scott has designed a number of Adidas original trainers, including a pair in American print with wings that ooze a Wonder Women appeal, a pair in Scary Spice's favourite, leopard print and a pair in the shape of a gorilla. Unfortunately, not even my student loan can stretch to afford anything from this collection, therefore I will continue to lust after the Superhero vs. Jungle themed designs. No one can blend fashion and sport together in the same way Scott can. So much more than your average gym wear.
