Topshop Unique SS12

The Topshop Unique show oozed Egyptian appeal for SS12. Heavily inspired by Cleopatra, specifically Elizabeth Taylor portraying Cleopatra, the collection was full of metallics meeting pastel pinks, shimmers of gold and hieroglyphic prints galore. Capturing the laid back essence of the 90's, there was hints of sporty silhouettes, in the form of casual trousers and oversized knitwear, with Cleopatra's face on the front. There were a number of other elements used in the show that only underlined the 90's sport connection, with metallic visors, bum bags and running shorts. My favourite piece from the collection is the princess pink midi dress with gold panels, modelled by Charlotte Free. I could go on praising the collection and personally feel this is their best show yet. Topshop Unique consistently delivers a blend of catwalk meets street style within their collections, and for SS12 it was no different.
